Running Partner/Computers

I think I can use my blog as advertisement! My friend Melissa (she lives in Sheboygan) sent me a message after reading my blog and said she would love to start running with me. I am so excited. We start tomorrow morning at 6AM. We are going to do Mon, Wed and Fri. Do we run in the rain Melissa? Oh I know it is going to be hard to get started, but I am going to be so proud of myself after each run. Now that I have my running partner I expect this baby weight to disappear!!!!

Have any of you tried Zumba? My friend Michelle makes me go on Thursday nights and it is fun! I suggest trying it. (Rebecca you would like it the most because I know how big of a dancer you are.) Too bad I can't go tonight, but I will make it the Thursdays that I don't have anything going on.

Our NEW (10 weeks) laptop decided to quit working yesterday. I did get my ipod plugged in so hopefully I will have battery to run tomorrow. Anyway I don't know what the problem is, but the timing is pretty bad. This is David's last week of school and he has his finals to do. He already started it on the other computer so now he has to start all over. On a positive note I got a lot done yesterday. The house was picked up and dinner was made when David walked in the door!

I am so annoyed!

Every day I wake up and say, "I am going to start working out again today". For some reason the day is over and I didn't workout. Yesterday I did get up and got a little workout in, but not what I would have liked to do. I REALLY want to start running again. I feel so great afterwards. This morning I got on the treadmill put my head phones in each ear and go to turn my ipod on and the battery was dead!!!!!! Guess what I did........ Jumped off the treadmill and checked my facebook (I have a love/hate relationship). Anyone of you who reads this want to start running with me??? I know if you don't live here we can't actually run together, but we could sure hold each other accountable. If I could only have Jillian screaming at me. I would love it!!!!!!!

OK.... I will do laundry now and as soon as my battery is charged I will get to running.....oh wait I am sure Judah will be awake by then. I could come up with a million excuses.

Last night was Bunco night. We had a lot of fun. Tracy took my candle holder off the wall. No, really she said she liked it so I gave it to her. Everyone thought I was really weird to just take something off my wall and give it away. After that everyone started pointing out stuff that they liked.
I did get 3 Bunco's and still did not win. Michelle and Anita also got 3, but Meredith walked away with the Bunco prize with 4 Buncos.

These videos show Allyn's attitude when something doesn't go her way.

Kian falling asleep

Kian had too much Easter candy today! I think Lyric did too! (Pork and beans... Ruud)

Kian just told me that he wasn't falling asleep. He was trying to keep his eyes open. Hahaha

Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter today. We went to church and came home and had dinner.
The Easter Bunny brought each of the kids a new webkinz.

Lyric

Lyric was selected to have his self-portrait on display at the John Michael Kohler Art Center. We went there today to check it out. For some reason his never gets an "s" on the end of his last name.

Here is David and the kids outside the Kohler Art center.

Lyric got his report card this week. I am so proud of him!!!! After reading I went to give him a big hug and started to cry. He thought I was crazy, but what can I say....... I am so proud of him.

This is how his grading works.

+ = Excellent (21)

S+ (33)

S = Satisfactory (3)

S- (2 in spelling)

N= Needs improvement

Here are some of the comments he received....

Skill & Study Habits- Lyric has terrific work habits! He always does his best and neatest work. I greatly appreciate his efforts. Great Job!

Social/Emotional Dev- Lyric has really been a joy to teach this year. He is a terrific kid and is doing very well in getting along with is classmates.
Writing- Lyric has come so far in his writing ability this past quarter! He is doing a great job of adding details, good word choice, and his won author's voice to his ideas. Super job, Lyric!
Reading- Lyric continues to use every minute of his reading time and has made solid, steady progress in his reading ability as the year goes on. He is doing a great job and I am very pleased with is progress. Super effort, Lyric!
Bible- Lyric has done a great job in Bible again this past quarter.
Art- Continues to show much creativity and skill in art.

Judah had his 2 month well baby check this past Monday. He weighed 12lbs 10oz. He got 3 shots. He didn't cry on the first one, but the other two made him really angry! He still has his hydra seal, but that could take six months for it to close up. Other than that he is a healthy growing baby.

We had to take Allyn to Milwaukee to see the cardiologist this week. Kian was really excited because he skipped school and got to go to school with his good friend Nic. He had a lot of fun at Nic's school.
Allyn was being grumpy at the doctor and didn't want her picture taken.

GRUMPY!! GRUMPY!

GRUMPY!

Then David said, "Grandmas Suzie is coming tomorrow". She instantly got happy!

Everything looks the same with her heart. The WPW (Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome) is still there. Next year when we go visit we are going to put her on a treadmil. He wants to see what her heart does when it gets going. That could hopefully tells us if she will need a surgery some day or not. Also next year when we go we are going to get Lyric and Kian hooked up to check their hearts. The WPW is hereditary. David's uncle has it so we just want to check out the boys. A lot of people have it and never even know they have it so we are not too concerned.

Grandma Suzie made it here yesterday. This is her first time holding and seeing Judah.

My Focus

I realized something today while I was talking to Lyric........... he has grown up so much. I have spent the last 8 weeks really trying to focus on Judah in his baby stage because I regret not taking time to do that with the other 3. While I have been busy trying to focus on him it slipped my mind to stay focused on Allyn, Lyric and Kian and they age that they are right now. I don't want to forget that either. I am going to work on the balance of staying in tune with all 4 kids each day and what is going on in their lives. I learned today that they each have something to teach me. Lyric is a really smart boy. Today he taught me what a soothsayer is. I have never heard that word before and I couldn't believe that he new a word like that. I guess his reading is really paying off. I am excited that I realized I have a child that I can have a meaningful conversation with. How cool is that? I am going to embrace it and work at my relationships with them everyday. I say this over and over, but having children is so amazing to me. I do not take the opportunity to have 4 children lightly. I really feel for people who are not able to have children. I am overwhelmingly blessed that God has given these children to us! WOW! If I can love these children this much I can not fathom the love God has for all of us. His love is amazing, steady and unchanging!

We really have not had much going on here lately. David is busy every night doing homework. It is so weird to have him say, "I have to do my homework". He is doing really well. He was at 100% until just recently he lost a couple points.

Judah has been growing up so fast. I never thought the transformation from 3-4 kids would be the easiest. He is so much fun. I love having a baby around.

Kian makes me laugh everyday. Yesterday he did 2 things that was really funny. I got us Subway for lunch. We were sitting at the table eating and he said to me, "is this healthy and fresh? The man on TV said he it is healthy and fresh". I then asked him if he new how much it was wondering if he had the "5, 5 dollar foot long song engraved in his head". He told me $7.
Last night the kids were sitting at the table eating and we noticed something under the couch. I went to look and it was a plastic picture frame (broken) that had Lyric and Kian's school pictures in it. I asked who broke it a few times and there was silence. I knew before I even asked who did it, but I wanted the truth to come out. Lyric and Allyn made it clear that they didn't do it. Kian just sat there taking a few small bites of his sandwich and looking back at me. After asking several times I told them that everyone gets the wooden spoon if someone doesn't tell the truth (because we DO NOT lie). Kian stuttered for a minute and finally confessed. It was so cute. Not cute that he broke the frame and tried to hide it, but cute how he was sitting there and finally told the truth. Thank God for the wooden spoon. They only need to feel it a time or two and they do whatever they can to avoid it.

Lyric still spends a lot of time reading. He has a collection of the Magic Tree House books that he loves to read. Last week he had them all read and was upset that he had nothing to read. He does not like the idea of not having a new book to read.

Allyn is still doing the same thing every day. She had her friend Mckenzie stay over during spring break. She turns into such a big girl when she is around. They had so much fun. When Mckenzie stayed over for Allyn's Birthday they tried to stay up until mid-night and they didn't make it. They did finally made it this time and they were both so excited about it. I can't believe Allyn made it. She has a hard not falling asleep before bed time (8:00).

As for me I am finally getting back into my business. It is hard to get going again after taking time off, but I am excited about it. I need to get going so I can make the next trip incentive. Not sure where it is going to be yet, but that does not matter I will take any vacation.
